TELUS and NAIOP Edmonton working together to improve the Developer experience

In 2017 NAIOP Edmonton met several times with TELUS on ways to successfully deliver TELUS PureFibre™ communications services to new commercial developments. NAIOP’s advocacy committee recently held a meeting with TELUS to review 2017, and we provided the team with candid feedback on servicing issues that we view to be of critical importance to our members.

As valued NAIOP members, if you have any comments, or suggestions on what would improve your working relationship with TELUS, please let us know and we’ll gladly bring your ideas forward. Our commitment to you is to use this TELUS partnership to your advantage!

Update from TELUS: NEW YEAR, NEW PROJECTS

Using guidance from the development community, our team has been working hard to improve scheduling, resource assignment, inventory control, and forecasting.

Introducing Dean Shular

Dean Shular, Commercial Channel Manager, will now be the face of TELUS for commercial developments in Alberta. His past role as a Regional Market Manager was focused on building relationships with Municipalities to roll out large scale PureFibre projects across Alberta. He brings that valuable experience to NAIOP’s membership, and will consult on network build options for new commercial developments using the latest in TELUS provided communications broadband infrastructure. If you have a new build opportunity, Dean will be happy to work with you.

You asked, we listened – TELUS has now launched a new intake and information portal, which can be found at www.telus.com/build. Now, help us help you – the network build process typically takes 20-24 weeks. The further in advance we are notified of new projects, the better. This will allow us to confirm design team capacity, acquire permits, pre-schedule construction field teams, and other important activities. The next step is for you to complete our simple intake form, found under the “contact us” tab of the portal and let us know about what projects you have coming up in 2018 and beyond. We want to ensure we have a grasp on how many new projects we can anticipate in 2018. Knowing this critical information will help us with scheduling your build, assigning internal manpower/resources, and controlling inventory. The earlier we know this information, the more seamless the build phase will be, ensuring your tenants can connect to the TELUS PureFibre network as soon as they take occupancy in your development. Once you submit your information, a member of our team will reach out to you to discuss your projects in more detail.

We look forward to working with you. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us online via www.telus.com/build or reach out directly to Dean.
