Daniel McAllister, BCOMM, CAIB, Commercial Account Executive, HUB International
Daniel has enjoyed a career in Commercial Insurance that began over 12 years ago. He has been a member of the HUB International Construction Specialties team for the past 7 years, endeavoring to participate and give back to the industry through various organizations and community involvement. His primary focus is in Contractors insurance and Project Risk Management, also assisting clients with claims advocacy, market data, and contract review.
Doug Lyall, CAIB, Chief Sales Officer, HUB International
Doug Lyall is the Chief Sales Officer for the Prairie Artic Region with HUB International Insurance Brokers. Doug joined HUB in 2013 and has over 20 years of Insurance and Leadership experience.
Prior to taking his position at HUB, Doug completed his Red Seal Journeyman Carpentry Certification, with 10 years of construction experience and firsthand knowledge of the Construction Industry Doug was the obvious choice to lead the Construction Practice Group. Doug currently oversees a team of 177 Construction Specialists across Canada and is directly responsible for over 60 sales staff within HUB International.
Matt Cruikshank, CIP,BPE, Senior Commercial Account Executive, HUB International
Matt is a Senior Account Executive who has been with Hub International for 18 years. He specializes in Commercial Real Estate insurance and currently assists in leading HUB’s Real Estate Specialty Practice. He entered the insurance industry in 2003 while completing his CIP designation at Grant MacEwan College. Matt decided that the best way to become successful was to specialize in certain areas- his focus was on realty business and more specifically condominium insurance. Matt is able to apply his expertise and market knowledge to exceed his client’s expectations which leads to long lasting client relationships. Matt is proficient in dealing with large property schedules and has put together million dollar plus accounts for multiple property managers in Edmonton. Backed by an exceptional and experienced team at Hub International. Matt was recently recognized by Insurance Business Canada as one of the Elite Brokers of 2020 & 2021 and was featured in the February editions of the magazine. In 2018 Matt was also awarded with the HUB Legend Award.
Rudy Roopnarine, Commercial Development Manager, Rohit Group Of Companies
With over 25 years of experience in the Development Industry, Rudy has held senior roles in organizations from the Retailers lens on Design, Construction, Leasing, and Property Management; the Developer’s lens on Design, Construction, Leasing, and Property Management as well as the General Contractors Lens on Construction. He has worked throughout Canada and the U.S. on projects with exposure to varying requirements of the industry. Rudy has been involved with development industry associations since 2012 and strongly believes in advocacy efforts to ensure that the impacts of policy on the development industry are carefully thought out and does not limit the industry’s ability to continue development.
Ken Corbett, GSC Vice President and General Manager, Kor Alta Construction
Kor Alta is proud to be celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. As part of this ongoing success Ken has been an integral member of the Kor Alta team for 18 years and a partner for 14 years. His experience has lead him to manage the estimating department as well as handle Kor Alta’s insurance portfolio. He also acts as a Senior Project Manager enabling him to track in real time how costs are established and controlled from project inception to completion. He works with clients during preconstruction analyzing risk assessment to manage overall project costs including insurance criteria and completing cost benefit analysis for different methods of construction and the impact insurance rates and warranties have on them.
